Foodhallen Amsterdam

Foodhallen Amsterdam

There are opening new food markets everywhere; El Nacional in Barcelona, de Markthal in Rotterdam and de Foodhallen in Amsterdam. And since I’m a big fan of little bites instead of big platters of food, food markets are the perfect place to have some dinner and drinks.

One of my favorite spots in Amsterdam is Hutspot. I can easily spend a few hours here. And beside that I love the name, Hutspot is a traditional Dutch dish.

Hanneke’s Boom Amsterdam

Hanneke’s Boom Amsterdam

Who didn’t want to build tree houses when they were little? I always feel like sitting in a tree house when I’m at Hanneke’s Boom. It is such a great place away from the city, but actually in the city centre. It’s the perfect way to escape the busy city for an afternoon, just like you escaped when you were little by climbing in your tree house.

Oetlinger Buvette Basel

Oetlinger Buvette Basel

One thing for sure; there cannot be enough Buvette containers at the Rhein in Basel. On my second trip to Basel I found the second Buvette container. If I would find a new one every time I’m in Basel I would be perfectly happy!

Conto Bar Basel

Conto Bar Basel

This stylish bar is the place to have a coffee in the morning or a fabulous afternoon cocktail; Conto Bar. The bar is located on a nice little square, Voltaplatz, were the cool green Basel trams pass by every few minutes. The interior is amazing. Conto bar is located in an old banking hall. All the details of this bank hall are still visible; the thick bullet proof glass and when you go down to the toilet your standing in an old safe with a massive bullet proof door.

La Bicicleta Madrid

La Bicicleta Madrid

One of my favorite spots in Madrid is La Bicicleta. The neighborhood is great, crash down in a comfy couch after shopping in Calle Fuencarral and the little streets of Malasaña. The atmosphere in this place is super relaxing, hang with your friends and have a beer, or take your laptop with you to do some work. And I love the interior. All chairs and couches are super old and just randomly put together, but they are so comfy and the place looks so homey because of this. When you’re hungry take a salad or the delicious tortilla de patatas.

La Cabane a Vin

La Cabane a Vin

This French wine bar is a place to enjoy some good wines in a little bar in the midst of the Central Hong Kong craziness. Share a cheese platter with your friends or just hang at the bar to have a French conversation with the bartender. And if you’re lucky they take out the Polaroid camera and you will get a spot on their wall.

Sunny days in LA

Sunny days in LA

July I spend with my friends in America, the west coast of America. We spend 3 weeks in our big American car, going from campsite to campsite; barbequing, making camp fires, hiking in the Grand Canyon and Yosemite Park. It was an amazing experience.
